In continuation of correspondence ending with your confidential despatch of the 6th June, 1913, I have the honour to
report that a further communication was received from the Honorary
Secretary of the Royal Hongkong Golf Club under date of 23rd Larch,
1914, enquiring whether the Goverment would be prepared to make a
single form of tenure for all the land held by the Golf Club at Fan
Ling.

Early in 1911, the Club took in hand the construction
of an 18 holes Golf Course, and the site selected comprised a large
number of scattered plots held privately on 75 years leases, the remainder of the land being Crow Land. The Crow Land in this area was leased to then under authority of your despatch No.11 of the 10th January, 1913, on an annual tenure at a Crow Rent of $1 per acre. To secure the private land required it was necessary for the Club to purchase direct from the Crown tenants their 75 years leases. This was done at a cost to the Club in all of 8,479.31, and the number of lote of which the leases were so purchased numbered as many as 220, with an area of approximately 65 acres.
